Pramoedya Ananta Toer
Pramoedya Ananta Toer lahir di Blora pada 6 Februari 1925. Selain sebagai pengarang, bermacam profesi telah dijalani Pramoedya seperti juru ketik Kantor Berita Dome (1942-1944), wartawan majalah Sadar (1947) dab kenber "Lentera" suratkabar Bintang Timur (1962-1965), dan dosen di Fakultas Sastra Universitas Res Publica (1936-1965) serta di Akademi Jurnalistik Dr. Rivai (1964-1965).
Menulis sejak di bangku sekolah dasar, hingga kini Pramoedya telah menghasilakn tidek kurang dari 35 buku, fiksi maupun nonfiksi. Karya-karyanya yang terbit pada masa Order Baru dilarang oleh pemerintah. Karya puncaknya adalah tetralogi novel sejarah yang ditulis ketika Pramoedya ditahan selama 11 tahun di Pulau Buru, yakni Bumi Manusia (1981), Anak Semua bangsa (1981), Jejak Langkah (1985) dan Nyanyi ...
